Energy and You

How much did you pay for your last gallon of fuel for your automobile?

How much was your last months electric bill?

Do you own stock in an oil company?

If you do not know how much you pay for gas or what you pay for utilities then just throw this email away.

If you do own oil company stock then you still need to read this.

I know that I paid $2.79 for the last gallon of gas that I bought.

I also know that my electric bill last month was $273.00 and I was gone part of the month on vacation.

I also sold all my oil company stock because even though they made record profits last quarter my dividend did not increase over last years.

I am fed up. Are you?

If so then do something about it.

What? You ask!

Stop paying those outrageous rates for necessary items.

Stop living on the edge of bankruptcy while the oil companies rake in the astronomical profits that they are making.

But I need fuel to get to work and I need electricity to heat and light my house. ( and run this computer that I am reading this on)

How can I live without these items?

Or how can I replace them and stop paying the exorbitant prices that they charge.

You cannot live without them but you can substantially reduce or even eliminate the majority of them.

How can I do that? You ask.

By becoming independent of the oil companies.

By generating your own power and developing your own fuel filing station.

Anyone can do it and everyone should.

I lived at sea for over 4 years and never had to purchase any electricity or fuel to run a generator to make my own.

At that time I would not have believed that what I was learning would need to be learned by all people just to survive.

I did it by choice not by necessity and it was easy an kinda fun if you want to know the truth.

We (my wife) and I sailed the Caribbean for 4 years an during that entire time.

a. Our fuel costs were less than $400.00

b. Our electricity bills were $0.00. Yes that is correct I said zero, nada, nothing.

c.We went anywhere and everywhere we wanted to go.

d.We always had plenty of electricity and never scrimped like many of our fellow sailors did.

How? You again say.

The answers are quite simple and yet to many seem very complicated.

We used solar power and wind power and both are free.

We learned how to make Bio-Diesel and saved even more by making our own soap (a by-product of making your own diesel)

But you don't have a diesel powered automobile.

So you make ethanol and with E85 you save 85% of the cost of gasoline.

That means that if you buy 100 gallons, per month, of gas today. You will only need to buy 15 gallons tomorrow.

It is simple math 100 gallons at $4.00 equals $400.00 per month.

15 gallons of gas at $4.00 is only $60.00.

A savings of $340.00 ??

Not true because you have the cost of making the ethanol but that is about $1.00 per gallon.

Therefore your total monthly cost is $60 for store bought gasoline + $85.00 for your own E85. Total= $145.00 or a savings of $255.00 per month.

If you are like me then you have a diesel (I have a 20+ year old Mercedes with over 300,000 miles on it) and it costs me about $0.85 per gallon of bio-diesel and I do not have to supplement it with store bought fuel.

My cost for fuel is about 85 cents per gallon and I now get over 45 mpg (up from 30 mpg) since I changed from the store bought stuff and added an oxy-hydrogen generator to it.
